Our team of professionals has developed a novel diagnostic assistance device consisting of a kit and hardware (The module) to detect certain congenital disabilities such as chromosomal disorders in the early stages of pregnancy (first month of pregnancy). This device is a screening tool with high sensitivity and specificity rate, which could assist the Physician in diagnosis. The positive finding undergo further tests for confirmation. Since this system will be used to screen the abnormalities, it will be used mainly as a preliminary test, with high sensitivity, which finally the parents can come with some sort of clues, and they can do further testing using existing conventional techniques during the subsequent trimesters. The output, which are electronic signals from the module, gets translated into a meaningful result, comprehensible by physicians for analysis. The “product,” therefore, is a combination of
a) DNA preparation kit,
b) Hardware which uses CMOS system(Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor),
c) Application software using Artificial Intelligence which can be loaded onto a desktop or a handheld.
DNA preparation is done by a simple blood test, taken from the mother as early as the first month of pregnancy, and subsequently using the CMOS system to get processed and analyzed. The result fed through software to give meaningful results, with great accuracy, which a general practitioner or Physician could utilize to direct the next steps to be taken by the patient.
